Pixel is an image editing, photo retouching and manipulating program available for many operating systems. It is available for Mac OS X,Windows, Linux, BeOS, Zeta, QNX, MorphOS, Solaris, and even old plain DOS, for both PowerPC and x86 architectures.
Pixel is not free software, if you like it and want to support its development, you may consider purchasing a copy. Licensing and prices are very fair, and include unlimited support.
The following three open-source libraries are required to run Pixel on every platform: libsdl, freetype and lcms. You can get all of required libraries from this package pixeldeps-1.0.macosx.mpkg.zip, or you can easily install these libraries through DarwinPorts. You can compile darwin ports system from source but also you can install directly from this package. After successfuly installing darwin ports simply run Terminal and type following command:
sudo port install lcms freetype libsdl
You will be prompted for your password and then required open-source libraries will be installed in few minutes. After that you can use Pixel in Mac OS X.
